Moxley Georgia Community-Willie Byron Miller, Jr. (Bill) departed  his earthly life on Saturday afternoon, January 18,2020 surrounded by his wife Donna, and his children, Ben, Beth, and Rob.  After several hospitalizations he chose to spend his last days at home with his family.  One of his last requests was for the children and grandchildren to visit every day and for everyone to eat together.  This request was fulfilled and the last seven days were of joy, happiness, and lots of friends and food.

Services for Bill will be held Tuesday afternoon, January 21,2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moxley Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the Moxley Cemetery.  Visitation will be at Moxley Baptist Church on Monday, January 20,2020 from 6pm until 8pm.  Bill is preceded in death by his parents,Reba and Willie Miller.  He is survived by his wife of over 47 years, Donna Clark Miller, children Ben Miller(Clairissa), Beth McNeely(Adam), and Rob Miller(Macie). He is also survived by seven beautiful grandchildren who were the absolute delight of his life: Sydney, Matt, Whitney, Will, Blake, Banks, and Brannen.  He is also survived by his three younger brothers, Joe Miller(Carol), Craig Miller(Teresa), and Jeff Miller(Christie), many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Bill lived his life to the fullest.  He was a member of Moxley Baptist Church and served as church treasurer and as a deacon.  He rarely missed Sunday School or church unless his health prevented him from attending. He loved his farm and was a true steward of the land.  The last years he farmed  were possible with the love and support of Robbie Brett, Foster Brett, Charles Smith, Jr. and Adam Oglesby.  For almost ten years, Bill spent time traveling with Donna and their best friends, Angie and Gus Cooper. He enjoyed golfing with the five o'clock crowd at Ogeechee Valley Country Club, hunting with his buddies at the Washington County hunting  club, and fishing with his brother Joe anytime he could.  He was a former president of the Louisville Lions Club.

Bill loved Thomas Jefferson Academy and was an avid supporter.  He served as President of the TJA Booster Club for four years and was actively involved in Ben ,Beth and Rob's education and sports programs.  As the grandchildren entered school, he again became involved-making gingerbread houses and volcanoes, going on field trips and helping fry chicken for the student body as a part of the Grandparents Club activities.  The 2019 TJA Football season  was the highlight of his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to Thomas Jefferson Academy to improve wheelchair accessibility at the football stadium.
