10/01/2013 Mr. Willie George Lawson, age 89, resident of Swainsboro, died Tuesday evening at Emanuel Medical Center. Mr. Lawson was a native and lifelong resident of Emanuel County. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the United States Army. Mr. Lawson was a mechanic and farmer. He was a member of Zaidee Advent Christian Church near Soperton. Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by his wife LaVay Hall Lawson , his parents Quince and Hettie Lawson and a granddaughter Joan Thornton McDonald. Graveside services for Mr. Lawson will be held Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. from the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Reverend Dale Wilkerson and Mr. Gene Stewart officiating. Memorials may be made to Zaidee Advent Christian Church ,C/O Neati Herndon,3072 GA HWY 86, Adrian,GA 31002 in memory of Mr. George Lawson. The family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Friday morning one hour prior to the service.
