Funeral services for William "Billy"Drake will be held Saturday, August 24, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the Midville First Baptist Church with Reverend Louis Pearce and Reverend Leonard  Quick officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hawhammock Baptist Church Cemetery in Swainsboro. The family will receive friends at Midville First Baptist Church from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral  at 2:00 P.M.   Pallbearers will be--Howard Miller, Darrell Cox, Landon Frederick, Mickey Frederick, Jeff Drake, and  Nicky Drake.   Mr. Drake died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at  Pruitt Health in Swainsboro.

Mr. Drake was born in Millen,  April 16, 1942  son of the late Julian H. Drake and Cleta Parker Drake.  Mr. Drake attended Emanuel County Institute and later served in the National Guard.  Billy worked for Fulghum Industries for many years until his retirement.  Mr. Drake was an active member of Midville First Baptist Church, where he faithfully attended Sunday School and served as a deacon.

Mr. Drake was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ronnie Drake and Gary Drake.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Janis Hopkins Drake of Midville,.  Other survivors include his sister, Gail Drake Edenfield of Swainsboro.

grandsons--Blaine Parker, Glenn Salisbury,and Christopher Salisbury , Houston, Texas

sisters-in-law-- Susan Drake Bishop(Wendell) of Swainsboro

Mr. Drake had 3 special "fur babies"-Rattler, Jill, and Scooter

Arrangements are by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro.
