TOMLINSON FUNERAL HOME 718 South Main St. Swainsboro, GA 30401 Ph. 478-237-3691 December 7,2012 Mr. Joe Wessie Flanders, age 90, resident of Adrian, died Thursday night at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta. Mr. Flanders was born in Emanuel County and had lived here all of his life. Mr. Flanders was a United States Army Veteran of World War II, having served in the First Army,Third Armored Division, and was wounded in action at Rhineland, Germany. He was an electrician for many years and had attended Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Ell Flanders and NonaBell Lawson Flanders Lamb and 2 sons Joel W. Flanders and Terry V. Flanders. Funeral services for Mr. Joe Wessie Flanders will be held Monday morning at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Elder Tommy Rountree and Elder Lindy Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Adam Kersey, Ryan Kersey, Ashley Riner, Ricky Henry, Trojan Harrison, and Mike Henry. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Wilson, Bobby Mason, Jim Bo Hutcheson, Al Lawson,Sr. ,Buddy Lawson.
