Funeral services for Virginia Bramlett Derden, 95, will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of   Tom M.  Wages  Funeral Home in Snellville, Georgia. The Reverend Will Zant will officiate. Interment will be in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. She died on Tuesday, January 23, at Greenwood Place Assisted Living Community in Wrightsville, Georgia, after an extended illness.

Mrs. Derden was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Derden; her parents, Emerson and Myrtle Tatum Bramlett; and her sister, Bernice Mooneyham.

Survivors include two sons, John K. (Carolyn) Derden of Swainsboro, Georgia; and Jim (Julie) Derden of Normal, Illinois. She is also survived by one grandson, Mark Derden, of Martinsburg, West Virginia; one granddaughter, Melanie Derden of Atlanta; and one great-grandson, Bryson Derden, of Martinsburg, West Virginia.

Tomlinson Funeral Home in Swainsboro, Georgia, is in charge of local arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those who desire to memorialize Mrs. Derden make a contribution to the John B. Derden CCC Museum, Vogel State Park, 405 Vogel State Park Road, Blairsville, Georgia 30512.
