Violet passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Wellstar Hospital in Augusta. She was born July 2, 1962 in Lake View Arkansas to Earnest Ray Spray of Pocahontas, Arkansas and Maggie Miller of Athens, Alabama. She was raised by her grandmother, spending her childhood between Alabama and Georgia. 

In 1982, Violet married Jeffery Grimes and together they made their home in Bartow, where they raised their two children. Violet devoted much of her time to raising her family. She was a hardworking woman who was always willing to help anyone she could. 

Throughout the years violet worked at several local restaurants and businesses, but her true passion was arts and crafts. She owned and operated her own craft and ceramic shop for many years and enjoyed setting up at festivals and craft shows. Violet had a special gift for creating beautiful things with her hands. Whether she was working on ceramics, making crafts, or baking treats in the kitchen for family and friends, she loved creating things that brought happiness to others. 

More than anything, Violet loved her family and friends. She had a big heart and helped raise and loved many children as if they were her own. Some were family and others were children she lovingly called her "Adopted Kids". To many of them she was simply Mama. Her home and heart always seemed to have room for more. 

Violet will be remembered for her creativity, her strength, her willingness to help others, and most of all, the love she gave so freely. She had a way of turning ordinary things into something beautiful, but her greatest gift was the difference she made in the lives of the people she loved. She was truly a woman who could never be replaced and will never be forgotten.

Brother-in-Law: Bruce Grimes

Many Nieces, Nephews, Extended family members, friends, and those she loved and helped raise as her own. 

Violet's love, creativity, and kindness will live on through every person whose life she touched. She will deeply loved, greatly missed and never forgotten.
