Shirley Scott Gunn

Shirley Scott Gunn, 82, of Swainsboro died April 12, 2022 at Emanuel County Nursing Home following an extended illness.
The youngest of nine children, Mrs. Gunn was born June 7, 1939 to Eliga and Loney Peebles Scott. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Tina Lou Sellers, Mary Alma Beasley, Odell Beasley, Wynie Tyson, Lois Tyson and Joyce Douglas; and brothers, Luther Scott and Jack Scott.
Mrs. Gunn was a homemaker, master gardener and excellent cook. She had a passion for daylilies and operated the Rainbow Daylily Garden  from her home for several years. She was a kind and loving wife, mother and MaMa to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a wonderful caretaker for her family.
Mrs. Gunn was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and also attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Hubert Gunn; daughter, Susan (Ronnie) Cameron; son, Michael Gunn; grandchildren, Jeb (Jordan) Cameron of Powder Springs and Josey (Caroline) Cameron of Madison; and great-grandchildren, Jasper and Sydney Cameron of Powder Springs and Marlee and Logan Gunn Cameron of Madison.
A graveside service will be held Friday, April 15, at 2:00 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Kemp with the Rev. Stanley Tyson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jeb Cameron, Josey Cameron, Mike Henry, Stephen Graham , Jerry Lawson, and Lanier Griswold.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Emanuel County Nursing Home and Pruitt Health Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Gunn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to _Shriner's Childrens Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605 in memory of Mrs. Shirley Scott Gunn.
