Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Sharon Thigpen age 73 of on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.

Mrs. Thigpen was born in Emanuel County to the late Hubert and Audrey Neel Jones Downs. She worked in several capacities at the Emanuel County Hospital and was a homemaker. Sharon enjoyed playing the piano, dancing and singing. She also loved gardening and flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers David Downs, Dolan Downs, and Wayne Downs; sister Susan Kea, Granddaughter Audrey Hood, and Step-Daughter Alisha Crockett.

She is Survived by:

Her Husband: Travis Thigpen of Adrian, GA

Daughter: Brandy Hutley (Johnathon) of Vidalia

Son: Levi Youmans (Maria) of Adrian

Stepdaughter: Allison Kent of Oregon

Stepson: Jeremy Thigpen (Stephanie) of Millen

Sister: Jacqueline Arrington (William) of Summertown

Grandchildren: Taylor Salazar, Tyler Youmans, Levi Youmans, Jr., David Hood, Jr., Archer Thigpen, & Zanda Thigpen

Three Great-Grandchildren

Several Extended family members.

Graveside services will be Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11 AM at Bishop’s Chapel Cemetery near Summertown with Ricky Downs officiating.
