Sarah Cranford Clay, 84, resident of Twin City, died Monday morning August 26, 2019, at   Memorial Health University Medical Center.  Mrs. Clay was born in Dry Branch, Georgia, daughter of the late James David Cranford and Annie Williams Cranford. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters- Helen McCoy and Elsie Tompkins, a brother-Frank Cranford, and 2 great-granddaughters- Elsie Ruth Clay and Allie Sue Clay. Sarah and Alexander were married for 65 years.  Mrs. Clay was a homemaker  and  a member of Canoochee Baptist Church.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Cranford Clay will be held Wednesday , August 28, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. from the Canoochee Baptist Church  with Reverend  Mark Wiggins officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The Family will receive friends at the church Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. until the Funeral at 4:00 P.M.  Pallbearers will be - Greg Johnson, Jr., James Clay, Evan Clay, Brandon Clay, Josh Cohen, and Tanner Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be - Wade Trawick, Dustin Benson, Ryan Patterson, Blake Patterson, Austin Benson, and Bill Cranford.  Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon  Offering at Canoochee Baptist Church C/O Wade Johnson at Durden Banking Company in Swainsboro.

Survivors include-- Husband--Alexander Clay, Jr., Twin City, GA

3 Sons-- Timothy Cranford Clay(Cecilia), Macon, GA

Gregory Alexander Clay(MeLisa), Macon, GA

Neil Channing Clay(Suzette), Twin City, GA

Daughter---  Melinda Clay Johnson(Greg), Swainsboro, GA

Brother-- William Cranford(Margie), Dublin, GA

8 Grandchildren--Greg Johnson, Jr.(Melissa),  James Clay(Katie),  Meghan Johnson,  Ashley Clay Smith(Tanner),  Brandon Clay(Liz),  Evan Clay,  Abby Clay Cohen(Josh), Brianna Clay

4 great-grandchildren-- Trey Johnson, Joe Johnson, Hank Johnson , Jamie Kate Clay

3 special nieces-- Sheila Benson, Wanda Trawick, and Fran Shaw

Arrangements are by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro.
