Mrs. Sara Flanders, 81, a resident of Kite, Georgia, died Saturday evening at her home. Mrs. Flanders, daughter of the late J.V. and Eula Claxton, was born in Kite. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ivy Artis Flanders, and a brother, Bobby Joe Claxton. She was a homemaker, a seamstress at Spring City Knitting, and a member of the Kite Church of God. Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Flanders will be held Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kite Church of God with Reverend Allen Meeks officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday evening at Tomlinson Funeral Home between the hours of 6-8 P.M. Sara loved her family. She always wanted to make sure no one went hungry. She never needed a special occasion to cook. She would cook even on the hottest days, for the fewest visitors. She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed by everyone. Survivors include her children - Faye and Grey Winstead of Summerville, Frank B. Flanders of Bogart, Malcolm and Bonnie Flanders of Duluth, Lamar and Jackie Flanders of Cataula, ten grandchildren--Jason Flanders, Matthew Flanders, Cheri Flanders Warren, Allison Flanders Bird, Rachel Winstead, Melody Hein, Macy Hein, Chris Hein, Chris Winstead, and Jessica Winstead. Also, five great-grandchildren---Brandon Winstead, Kevin Winstead, Alex Winstead, Katelyn Flanders, and Connor Flanders. She is survived by two brothers, Jimmy Claxton and Johnny Claxton, and one sister, Gena Odom. Pallbearers are Lynn Johnson, Keith Johnson, Joey Claxton, Jason Flanders, Matthew Flanders, and Matthew Warren.
