Roberta Cecile Vautier (Spicer), 80, originally of Perth, Western Australia, was called home to be with her Savior on May 27th, 2024, in Vidalia, Georgia after a long battle with Alzheimer's.

Born on 2nd November 1943 to the late Florence Potter and Robert Spicer, Roberta was named after her father, a pilot instructor, who lost his life in a plane collision nearly 9 months before she was born.

Roberta met her husband, a Frenchman and the love of her life, Jean Andre Georges Vautier, on a flight while working as an airline hostess. They were married 9 weeks later and traveled extensively, living in many countries where they had five children together, one of whom died prematurely. Roberta's outgoing personality and friendly disposition enabled her to embrace different cultures and make lasting friendships wherever she went. Her gracious smile and joyful demeanor endeared her to all who knew her. Even when her disease took away all her faculties, she never lost her joy and vibrant smile. She grew sweeter with every passing day and showed deep gratitude for everything that was done for her.

She attended the Harvester Baptist Church in Swainsboro, Georgia having met the missionaries, Cliff and Eloise Hunnicutt, whilst living in Singapore in the early 1970s. It is thanks to them she truly came to know the Lord.

Roberta was a loving and affectionate wife, mother, grandmother and is survived by:

Her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Michael, Thomas, Eloise, Anna, David, Jonathan, Joel, Carolyn, Caleb, Nathan, Brooklyn, Liam and Shemssy

Her sisters: Lyn (Kevin) Berston and Rosemary Hillson

Her brother: Richard (Carol) Joseph

and many nieces and nephews.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but there is comfort knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord for all eternity.

"But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
