Mr. Robert Patrick (Bob) Lyons, 73, died Monday at Scott Health and Rehab.  Mr. Lyons was born in Long Beach, California son of the late Bobby Gene Lyons and Patricia Bean Lyons.  Bob had lived in Swainsboro for 44 years. He was employed by the Georgia State Patrol where he was a  Radio Operator for Post 19 for over 36 years.  He also had served on the Swainsboro City Council for many years.  Bob was a member of the Swainsboro Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Barbara Garrard Lyons.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 A.M. from the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Jim Roberts officiating.  Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Levi Brown, Josh Hollingsworth, Jackson Brown, , Rod McClain, and Chris Cumbee.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Georgia State Patrol,  Swainsboro Fire Department and Swainsboro Police Department.  The Family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Robert Patrick(Bob) Lyons.
