(Bill) Rountree, of Swainsboro died April 10, 2012, at Emanuel Medical Center. She graduated from Eastman High School and Georgia State College for Women. She taught Home Economics. All who knew her considered her a kind, loving, and sweet Southern lady. She devoted her life to her family. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and participated in the women's and missions programs. She taught her daughters to love reading and was a member of the local book club and Friends of the Library. She was a patron of Emanuel Arts Council and a member of Emanuel County Historical Society. Her bridge club members maintained treasured, lasting friendships. She is survived by her daughters Julia Nelle Rountree and Madelyn Kay Rountree (Charles Lambert). Sarah Catherine Hackle (Jesse), her granddaughter, has a son, Ethan William Hackle. Her sister Nelle Mizelle Tracy, resides at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA. Her niece Kay Quillian Chester( James) of Marietta has two sons, James and Matthew. Her nephew, John Lunsford Tracy (Sherry) of Albany has one son, Alex. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm. Thursday afternoon at First United Methodist Church, Swainsboro, Georgia, with graveside services at Swainsboro City Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Bill Woodson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 2:00pm. at the Church. Pallbearers will be: Richard McNeely, Jerry Cadle, Ralph Foskey, Dr. Jim Fason, James Chester, Warren Budd,and John Black. Honorary Pall Bearers are: Jean Morgan, Anna Smith, Sandra McCuen, Caroline Parker, Barbara Karrh, Clarice Robertson, Elmyra Black, Jean Hooks, Josephine Way, and Residents and Staff of Church St. Manor and members of the United Methodist Women Wesleyan Circle. The family has requested in lieu of flowers remembrances be sent to the First United Methodist Church, 319 West Main St. Swainsboro, Ga. 30401, Emanuel Arts Council, 303 N. Green St. Swainsboro, Ga. 30401, or The Franklin Memorial Library 331 W. Main St., Swainsboro, Ga. 30401, in memory of Mrs. Naomi M. Rountree.
