Powell, age 83, of Adrian, died Thursday Morning, May 31, 2012, at the University Hospital in Augusta. Formerly of Waynesboro, Mr. Powell born in Jenkins County, had lived in Adrian for many years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and Automobile Mechanic with Waynesboro Chev- Olds. He was a member of Rosemont Heights Missionary Baptist Church and Attended Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattis and Mattie Powell, and 9 siblings Funeral services will be Saturday, June 2, 2012, at 2:00 pm. at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Tommy Rountree and Elder Sam Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Harold Claxton, Richard Sapp, Rusken Powell, Tommy Powell, Ski Dzwonski, and Arlie Kersey, Alternates will be Dwayne Edwards and James Wilson. He is survived by; his wife; Blanche K. Powell of Adrian 2 sons; Hilton Powell (Shannon) of Augusta.
