TOMLINSON FUNERAL HOME 718 South Main St. Swainsboro, GA 30401 Ph. 478-237-3691 January 9,2015 Mr. Melvin Eugene Hadden, age 82, of Swainsboro, died Friday morning, January 9, 2015 at University Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Hadden, born in Emanuel County had lived most of his life here. He was a U S Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a Sergeant 1st. class, Drill Sergeant. He also worked for the Emanuel County Maintenance Shop. Mr. Hadden was a member of the Hawhammock Baptist Church, where he served for many years as, S.S. Superintendent, Deacon Chairman, and on the Cemetery Committee. He was preceded in death by his 2 brothers, Sam Hadden and Louie Hadden amd a Granddaughter, Stephanie Hadden. Funeral services will be, Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm. in the Hawhammock Baptist Church with Reverend Cail Pressey and Reverend Louis Pearce officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the Funeral Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. He is survived by: His wife: Mary Leta Hadden of Swainsboro 5 Children: Edward Eugene "Tommy" Hadden (Rachel) Jimmy Charles Hadden (April) Johnny Leon Hadden (Mitsy) Judy Caroline Mock (Clark) Kendall Wayne Hadden (Nikki) 2 brothers: Harry Hadden and Lonnie Hadden Sister: Jo Sharon "Nancy" Lewis Grandchildren: Selina Ayala, Jake Fowler, Jennifer Tatum, James Fowler III, Tommy Hadden, Jr., Justin Hadden, and McKenna Hadden. 10 Great Grandchildren: Michael Hayes, Tyler Hayes, Laney Tatum, Dakota Hayes, Emily Tatum, J.J.Evans, Abbigail Fowler, Lily Tatum, James FowlerIV, and Noah Hopkins. Step Grandchildren: Kim Karnes (John), Ivey Mock III (Tara), Tyler Barton, Jacob Barton A step Great Grandchild: McKynna Underwood.
