Mearlene Hooks, 78, resident of Twin City, died Saturday at Pruitt Health in Swainsboro.  Mearlene was born in Bulloch County daughter of  the late Eddie and Nannie Bell  Cowart Joyner.  She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Roy Hooks, her  parents, a daughter Peggy Sue Hooks,  a son Joseph Neal Hooks. She had worked for Georgia Baptist Hospital for many years.

Funeral services will be he held Monday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with  Reverend Billy Brinson officiating. Interment will follow in Eastbrook Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Family.  The Family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Sunday evening between the hours of 6-8 P.M.

Survivors include her children-- Joann Pilkton, Jerry L. Hooks, Bonnie Faye Dowis,John D. Hooks, Nigel Roy Hooks, Paul Edward Hooks, and Angela Denise Satterfield.

Grandchildren-- John Timothy Edmundson, Raymond Paul Dowis, Joshua McCoy Dowis, Christy Michelle Dowis, Eric Hooks, Alison Nicole Baughman, Kayla Marie Farmer, Preston Lee Farmer,Michael Satterfield, Ernie Frost, Jamie Postell, Tyrone Postell, P.J. Hooks, Nathan Hooks, Justin Hooks, Christian Martinez and Angleique Martinez-Beaver.
