Lucretia Murphy Greenway passed away December 24, 2020.  She was born in Swainsboro, Georgia  January 9, 1937 to the late James Cecil and Lydia  Kight Murphy and had lived in Bartow most of her life.   She was preceded in death by her husband, Ennis Edward Greenway, her father and mother, sister Evelyn Murphy Hayes, and a brother Jimmy C. Murphy.    She was a member of  the  Bartow Baptist Church  where she was active in the nursing home ministry, and womens missions, church chair, and taught  Sunday School for many years. Mrs. Greenway worked for 31 1/2 years for the Bartow Post Office as postmaster relief.

Lucretia loved cooking and entertaining.  She organized a monthly dinner club with several friends.  She enjoyed attending the Friday morning breakfast club and was a supporter of the Bartow Community Club.  She was a very devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother and  Sister.

After suffering from several strokes in her older years, she became a resident of her good friend , Paula Stickles,assisted living home, The Home Place, in Louisville, Georgia. She was a resident there until her death!

Graveside services will be held Sunday afternoon at  2:00P.M. from the Bartow  Cemetery. Pallbearers will be:  Bruce Sammons, Greg Gaston, Albert Hall, Bill Boulineau, Phillip Boulineau, and Dana C. Kent.   The  Family will receive friends at the Bartow Baptist Church at 1:00 P.M. Sunday.

2 daughters-- Lisa Greenway Stevenson(Stevie), Thomson, Georgia

Cherry Lynn Greenway, Bartow, Georgia

2 grandsons-- Mathew Milburn(Holly) , Dearing, Georgia and Joshua Stevenson, Thomson,Georgia

2 sisters-- Jonnie Murphy Boulineau(Billy), Swainsboro, Georgia

Mary Murphy Kent(Dana), Swainsboro, Georgia

Several special nieces and nephews.
