Lester Silas Jones Obituary

Mr. Lester Silas Jones, 83, of Swainsboro died Saturday December 8th, 2018 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Mr. Jones was born, raised, and forged his life in Emmanuel County. A son to the late Lewis Jones and Ruby Mathis Jones. A father to two, Danny Lester Jones (Peggy) and Angela Jones Steptoe (Billy). A husband, preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Frances McNeely Jones, and survived by wife Mary Ellen Deal Jones. A brother to Clava Jo Hunt, T.L. Jones, and the late Cecil Jones, Elmer Jones, and Edryl Jones Howell. A grandfather to five and great-grandfather to 6. A member of Calvary United Methodist Church and the Calvary UMC Men's Club. A community member. A fisherman. A singer in the church choir. A Braves fan. Former head mechanic of Creston Industries. And an unwaveringly good, honest, and dutiful man.

Lester is also survived by Mary's loving family: her children Linda Capraun, Keith Deal, and Steven Deal, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Lester Jones will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday from Calvary United Methodist Church with Reverend Mark Miller, Reverend Nick Hazleton, and Reverend Matthew McNeely officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dellwood.  The Family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Tuesday evening between the hours of 6-8 P.M. Flowers are accepted and   memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church in memory of Mr. Lester Jones.
