Mr. Leon Newman, 77, resident of Swainsboro, died Tuesday morning at his residence. Leon was the son of the late Willie Sam Newman and Mattie Irene Newman.  He was of the Baptist faith. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, brothers- Bobby Newman, Clarence Newman, and W.S. Newman, sisters-Louise Jones and Sybil Newman.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home  with Reverend Franklin Sasser officiating.  Interment will follow in the Edenfield Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be--Buster Edenfield, Kenny Riner, Earl Flanders, Greg Evans, Ryan Jones, and Tim Johnson.  The Family will receive friends Thursday morning one hour prior to the funeral service .

Son-- Richard Leon Newman(Shannon)

Daughter-Donna Brockman (Clark)

Grandchildren-- Richard Clayton Newman, Richard Leon Newman, Zachary Brockman

2 Greatgrandchildren--Christopher Newman and Joshua Newman

Brother-- Raymond Newman

2 Sisters-- Jeanette Turner and Ruby Johnson
