September 26, 2014 Mr. Leon Cecil Lewis, 89, resident of Twin City, GA, died Friday morning at Cedar Plantation in Metter, Georgia. Mr. Lewis was a native and lifelong resident of Emanuel County. He was the son of the late Leon W. and Frankie Ellington Lewis. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred. Mr. Lewis was a veteran of WWII having served in Patton's 3rd Army involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He had served as Twin City Postmaster for many years. Mr. Lewis was a member of Garfield Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Leon Cecil Lewis will be held Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. in the Garfield Baptist Church with Reverend Franklin Sasser officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Hebron Church Cemetery in Garfield. Pallbearers will be family.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Twin City Lions Club.
