Judson Harris Powers, 77, a resident of Vidalia, GA, passed away Saturday evening at
Community Hospice in Vidalia. He was born in Ocala, Florida, son of the late William Harris
Powers and Anne Hansard Powers. He graduated from Florida Southern College in Lakeland,
Florida and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order. Judson retired from Georgia Quick Start as an
Economic Developer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia.
Judson was a loving husband, father, and a doting grandfather. He was a loyal friend with a
quick wit and a kindhearted brother to all of his siblings. His family and friends cherished every
moment shared with him.
In addition to his parents, Judson was preceded in death by his brother, William Lewis Powers.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ann Drury Powers; his daughter and son-in-law, Katie
and Jason Holcomb of Baldwin, GA; grandchildren, Adelyn, Eliette, Chloe, and soon to arrive
Jedidiah Holcomb; sister and brother-in-law Betsy and Erle Norton of Vidalia, GA; brother
Stephen Powers of Sarasota, FL; and sister and brother-in-law, Sara Lee and Ken Bailey of
Sarasota, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A private, family graveside service will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 A.M. at Lakeview
Memorial Gardens with Reverend Jim Smith officiating. Social distancing guidelines will apply.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Tommy & Shirley Strickland Cancer
