Joseph "Joey" Randolph Brassell, Jr.

October 22, 1956 - August 8, 20025

Joey, 68, passed away Friday August 8, 2025, at his residence in Greensboro, NC after a two-year battle with Alzheimer's dementia.

Joey was employed by Sears when he became manager of the Sears automotive center at Citadel Mall in Charleston, SC. He was then transferred to Greensboro, NC where he was the automotive center manager of Sears at Friendly Center. Joey was employed by several different automotive parts companies throughout his remaining years and retired from NAPA in 2022. Above all else he was proudest to be a graphic designer.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Michele Morris Brassell, his son Ryan Brassell, his mother, two sisters, one brother, a daughter, her husband and grandson and a host of other relatives.

The funeral was held at the graveside in Bartow City Cemetery Monday August 11th at 10:00 AM with the Rev. Stan Ballew officiating.

Thank you to Amedisys Hospice of Burlington, NC employees Joy, Michelle, Devonna and Kamisha who took great care of Joey during the last week of his life.

Thank you also to friends, Stephanie and Steve Thomas and Heather and Rob Newman for helping us during this difficult time. And most of all, thank you to Bettilu and Charles Smith for their love and genuine southern hospitality.
