Jane Wilyne Canady Purcell has fulfilled her own unique, beautiful purpose in life and has been called home to be with her God and her family and the many dear friends that passed before her whom she missed so very much every day: her husband Harry, her mother Nobie Belle Canady, her father Desmal Sheppard Canady, her only sibling, a brother, Moses Robert Canady.and her friends Snooks, Jewel, Marilyn, Mary and so many others. Jane loved life to the fullest--her family, her friends, her home, and dogs Toby, Sweetie, and Rufus. She was a pioneer at a time when most women were staying at home to care for their families. Jane decided she wanted it all and had the determination and the energy to get it. She owned her own successful business as a hair stylist and she loved every minute of it. She loved "doing hair" making women beautiful, the "conversation" of all her customers, and being the boss! And she still managed to put grits, eggs, bacon, and biscuits on the table every morning and a country dinner on the table every night. She was a den mother for her sons in the scouts, managed LaRona's beauty pageants and dating life, and drove Patti to every kind of lesson out there. She dressed to the nines and accompanied Harry to Lions Club events and Spivey State Bank Christmas parties. She did it all and she did it her way. She is survived by her four children that she called "her life:" LaRona Jane Purcell Cook, her boys, Vernon Desmal Purcell and Dennis Wayne Purcell and her youngest Patti. Also LaRona's husband Nickey and Vernon's wife Jairus Jean. She was "Granny" to her six grandchildren: Desmal Wayne Purcell, Gina Marie Cook Nelson and her husband Paul, Lori Lynn Cook Tuttle and her husband Wes, and Dennis and Carol's kids: Ryan Vernon Purcell, Cory Stewart Purcell and Lauren Ashley Purcell. And she was blessed to see four beautiful great-grand children: Max, Maggie, and Martha Jane Nelson and Sheppard Desmal Purcell. She was Aunt Jane to her brother's children Rick and Randy Canady and Jean Canady Warren. And, she grew up with and dearly loved her sweet cousin Mary Ella Davis and her cousin George Johnson. Funeral services for Jane will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 2pm in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Louis Pearce and David Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Stillmore Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Tuesday evening between the hours of six and eight. Tomlinson Funeral Home of Swainsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
