May 18, 2015 Reverend James L. Willis, 81, resident of Swainsboro, died Monday evening at Emanuel Medical Center. Reverend Willis was born in Moultree, Georgia son of the late Preston and Janie Norton Willis. James had lived in Swainsboro most of his life and had pastored at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Kite for over 35 years. He was a United States Armed Forces Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corps. James was preceded in death by his wife Virginia H. Willis and his daughter Crystal Jean Smith . Funeral services for Reverend James L. Willis will be held Friday morning , May 22, 2015 , at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Louis Pearce officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Old Canoochee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be : Chris Rowland, Jeremy Turner, Mike Turner, Aaron Hammond, Jeff Decker, and Sammy Willis. The Family of Reverend Willis will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Thursday evening between the hours of 6-8 P.M.
