Mr. James "Country" Talmadge Claxton, 68, resident of  Emanuel County, died Monday at his residence.  James was born in Toombs County, Georgia, son of the late William Talmadge Claxton and Reba Faye Parker Beasley. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Gregory James Claxton, grandparents-- Zach and Fannie Bell Claxton and Turner and Sara Parker.   Mr. Claxton was in the plumbing business for over 52 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services for Mr. James "Country " Claxton will be held  Thursday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Rusty Moore officiating. Interment will follow  at the Claxton family homestead.   Honorary pallbearers will be  --Rex Durden, Ralph Thompson, Jerome Lancaster and the staff of South Georgia Plumbing.  The Family will receive friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home Wednesday evening between the hours of 6-8 P.M.   Please remember the Covid-19 guidelines during this time.
