Hubert Gunn
August 22, 1931 – January 1, 2023

Hubert Gunn, 91, of Kemp, died January 1, 2023, at Emanuel Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Gunn was born in Emanuel County on August 22, 1931, to Marcus DeWitt and Phronie Moore Gunn. He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife of 66 years, Shirley Scott Gunn; twin brother, Herbert Gunn; and sisters, Ida Mae Kea and Mary Riner.
Mr. Gunn graduated from Swainsboro High School and served in the army during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Georgia Teachers College and worked at the Signal School at Fort Gordon before beginning his teaching career at Swainsboro Technical School, where he retired in 1991.
Mr. Gunn was an accomplished musician, lover of antique cars and lifelong farmer. He was a loving husband, father and PaPa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan (Ronnie) Cameron of Kemp; son, Michael Gunn of Kemp; grandchildren, Jeb (Jordan) Cameron of Powder Springs and Josey (Caroline) Cameron of Madison; great-grandchildren, Jasper and Sydney Cameron of Powder Springs and Marlee and Logan Gunn Cameron of Madison; sister-in-law, LaRose Gunn of Swainsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 5, at 2:00 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Kemp with Elder Sam Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jeb Cameron, Josey Cameron, Mike Henry, Stephen Graham, Beau Gunn, Jerry Lawson and Lanier Griswold.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital, Shriner's Childrens Hospital, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605, in memory of Mr. Gunn.
