Gertrude Durden Ackiss, 86, resident of Norristown, died  Tuesday evening December 29, 2020, at the Treutlen County Health and Rehab in Soperton.  Mrs. Ackiss was born in Emanuel County, Georgia , daughter of the late  Anguish Leaird  Durden and Sadie Youmans Durden.  She had worked as a PBX operator for many years.  Gertrude was a member of the Norristown Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband John H. Ackiss, Sr.

Due to the Covid - 19 Pandemic, graveside services will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 2:00P.M. at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Reverend Vonn Johnson officiating.  Please remember social distancing and use of face coverings for your safety and the safety of others. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Corinth Methodist Church Food Service or the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund in memory of Gertrude D. Ackiss.
