Reverend George "Tom" Harrison, entered into rest Monday, June 24, 2024 at his residence in Bartow, Georgia. He was 95 years old. Tom was born in Washington County, Georgia, November 10, 1928 to the late Harvey G. Harrison, Sr. and Thelma Elise Toole Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Ann Greenway Harrison, his daughter, Becky Ann Harrison, and son Christopher A. Harrison.

Funeral services for Reverend Harrison will be held Friday morning June 28,2024  at 10:00 A.M. from the Wadley Baptist Church with Gary Hutchins and Reverend David Brown officiating. Tom's  Sunday School class and the Deacons of Wadley Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers .  Pallbearers will be Grandsons- Shane Womack, John Eric Harrison, Thomas Harrison, Mitchell Roberson, Matt Roberson, Carl Harrison, and Wyatt Harrison.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral and after the graveside service returning to the Wadley Baptist Church.  In Lieu of Flowers, it is the request of the family that memorials be made to the Wadley Baptist Church Roofing Fund.

Tom was the first Eagle Scout in Washington County, Georgia. He attended Georgia Tech and  graduated from Mercer University, and received a masters degree from Southern School of Theology. He was the Founder and Administrator of Glendale Nursing Home in Wadley, Georgia. He pastored several churches in both Jefferson and Laurens County. He retired from the Wadley Baptist Church.

Tom was married to Betty Ann Greenway Harrison for 64 years. Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter Luanne Harrison Boulineau(Larry) of Louisville and his son Thomas Ivey "Sonny" Harrison, II of Bartow. Granddaughter Shannen Roberson(Jamie)of Bartow, Grandsons Shane Womack(Casey) of Dublin,Georgia, Thomas Harrison(Etole) of Bartow, Carl Harrison(Misty) of Gainesville, Georgia, Wyatt Harrison of Sandersville, and John Eric Harrison of Atlanta, Georgia, two daughter-in-laws Bonnie Harrison of Sandersville and Karen Harrison of Wrens, daughter Benita Frey(Fritz) of Evans, Georgia, Seven great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren.
