Elizabeth (Betty) "Babe" Foster Fulghum died Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Center.  "Babe" was born in Gordon, Georgia, daughter of the late Roy G. Foster, Sr. and the late Lulee Stokes Foster.  She was preceded in death by her husband, George Heyward Fulghum, Sr., a brother Roy G. Foster, Jr., a sister Virginia Foster Thurston, and a grandson Matthew D. Mason.

Babe was a graduate of Wesleyan College and the University of Georgia where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.  Babe was a leader of the Girl Scout Troop in Wadley, Georgia and was the head of the March of Dimes in Wadley.  Babe was also the President of the Jefferson Republican Young Women.  She was a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church and a member of the church choir.  Babe was a member of the Louisville Garden Club and  had been a member of the Midville United Methodist Church.  She was employed at R.G. Foster and Company and Wadley Gin for many years..

She and her husband Heyward revived Coleman Lake Campground and Restaurant in the early 70s and again in the mid 80s.  It was there she resided until her death.

Betty was loved and adored by her entire family and many friends throughout her life.

The Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 24 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wadley First United Methodist Church with Reverend Chris Shoemaker, Reverend Brian Stokes and Reverend Tom Harrison officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wadley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wadley First United Methodist Church.

The pallbearers are:  Levi Heyward Fulghum, George H. Fulghum III, Fred G. "Trey"  Mason III,  Eric Scot Mason, Samuel Stokes Jensen, Adam Cody Robinson, and Elliott C. Fulghum-Bernard.

The family will receive friends at Wadley First United Methodist Church Friday August 23 from 5:30 P.M.. until 7:30 P.M.

Survivors include her children:   Heyward Thomas Fulghum  (Teresa),   Lissa Plexico Jensen (Dan), George Heyward Fulghum, Jr. (Holly), Emily Foster Fulghum, and Susan Foster Fulghum.

Grandchildren:  Sara Beth DuBose (Keith), Levi H. Fulghum, Samuel Stokes Jensen, Sarah Jane Jensen, Elizabeth Jensen, George H. Fulghum III (Katie), Amy F. Rowland (Clay), Jacob T. Fulghum, Adam Cody Robinson, Elliott C. Fulghum-Bernard, Fred G. Mason III (Jade) and E. Scot Mason (Brittany); 16 great grandchildren and 4 nieces and 3 nephews.

Arrangements are by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro.
