September 11,2015 Mrs. Elaine Collins Thomas, 71, resident of Swainsboro, died Friday morning in the Emanuel County Nursing Home. Elaine was born in Metter, Georgia daughter of the late William Oliff and Mina Janette Youmans Collins of Lexsy. Mrs. Thomas was a charter member of Emanuel Rangers Chapter #2318,United Daughters of the Confederacy,Swainsboro , and had continually served the chapter for more than 53 years. She held the office of Chaplain at the time of her death. Elaine was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Swainsboro. Funeral services for Elaine C. Thomas will be held Sunday September 13,2015 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Reverend Rickey Rushing and Reverend Nick Hazleton officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery with Reverend Emory Fennell officiating. Pallbearers will be-Bill Carmichael, Roy Thompson, Reverend Emory Fennell, Clayton Shepherd, Dennis Collins, and Vaughn Riner, In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund of the Georgia Division United Daughters of the Confederacy, C/O Mrs. Jane G.
