Reverend Bruce Donald Flowers, 66, resident of Swainsboro, died Tuesday at University Hospital in Augusta. Bruce was affectionately known as Pastor Bruce and Poppa.  He was born in Jesup Georgia son of the late Daniel Sumter Flowers and Ouida Cobb Flowers.  He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings- Dana Beasley and Talmadge Flowers. Pastor Bruce received his Bachelors degree in Bible Education from Lee University and his Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from University of the Rockies.  Bruce was Pastor of Eastwood Church of God, District overseer of the Swainsboro District Church of God, leader of the Ministerial Alliance, radio analyst for the Swainsboro Tigers and was a Lifetime UGA Fan. He was married to his wife Gail for a wonderful 46 years.

Funeral services for Pastor Bruce Flowers will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M. from the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Lewis, Reverend Rich Bowen, Reverend Andrew Flowers and Bishop Gary Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dellwood.  Pallbearers will be:  Matthew Beasley, Brian Gerrald, Casey Powell, Torey Flowers, Tyson Flowers, Romie McCoy and Trey Powell.  Honorary pallbearers will be ministers from the Swainsboro and Metter District and the Swainsboro Tigers Football Team.  Memorials may be made to the Eastwood Church of God, P.O. Box 723, Swainsboro,Georgia 30401 in memory of Pastor Bruce.  The Family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until  2:00 P.M. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.
