Annie Mae Townsend, 88, passed away Monday  at Washington County ECF.  Mrs. Townsend was born in Johnson County, daughter of the late Barry Smith and Hattie Holder Smith. Mrs. Townsend was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years Robert Townsend, sons- John Robert and David Mark Townsend.  Mrs. Townsend had worked for the Johnson County Board of Education as a para pro for many years.  She was a member of the Kite Church of God.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon from the Kite Church of God with Randy Buxton officiating. Interment will follow in Minton's Chapel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Coleman, Shawn Wombles, Chad Wombles, Jimmy Renfroe, Johnny Thigpen, and Sammy Lee.  The Family will receive friends at the church  from 1:30 P.M. until 2:45 P.M. Wednesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kite Church of God, P.O. Box 309, 76 College Street, Kite, Georgia 31049 in memory of Annie Mae Townsend.
