Obituary

Alan John Aston, 87 of Swainsboro, Georgia, was called to his heavenly home to be with his Savior on March 30, 2022 at his residence. A native of the United Kingdom, Alan is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beryl Mary Aston and daughter, Rachel, both of Swainsboro. Other survivors in the UK primarily, are sons, Alan, Jr. (Valerie), Paul (of Mexico), and Phillip (Syanne); daughter, Lynn Watson (Philip), Heli, mother of Daniel and Kristopher (of Finland); seven grandsons, Neil, Mark, Daniel, Kristopher, Daniel, Bobby and Noah; four granddaughters; Hannah, Lydia, Julia, and Johanna, two great-grandsons; Elijah and Isaac, one great-granddaughter, Sophia, as well as, several nieces, nephews and many friends.

While serving in the British Royal Marines, Alan met Beryl and they were married January 7, 1956. He continued service in the British Royal Marines for 23 years and then was employed by the Royal Automobile Club as a mechanic. After retirement in 2000, Alan and Beryl, as well as their daughter, Rachel felt led of the Lord to move to Swainsboro, GA in 2001. Since that time, he and his family have served faithfully at The Harvester Baptist Mission. Alan's service at the mission and his church was something he dearly loved and was very much a part of his life until just a few months before he passed away.

While stationed in Singapore with the British Royal Marines from 1968 to 1970, Alan and Beryl met Cliff and Eloise Hunnicutt, Jr., missionaries from Swainsboro. A lifelong friendship was forged during that time and continued for over 50 years.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 2, 2022, at The Harvester Baptist Church, 939 West Main Street, Swainsboro. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Andrew Lee officiating. Interment will be at the Eastbrook Cemetery, 1082 US Hwy. 80 East, Swainsboro.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Hunnicutt, III, Chu Lin Ooi, Hwee Tio, Luke Lee, Felix Close and George Close.
